GRIFFIN 450 - X-Sorber and GSS 3.0 software

Chemistry happens outside the lab…so should analysis®

see the video of Griffin technology use by US National Forensic Mobile Laboratory

First field portable system capable of on-site GC/MS/MS, reducing drastically false positives in air, soil and liquid analysis.

Equipped with multiple sample introduction options for analysis of VOCs, sVOCs, TICs in air, solids and liquids

Low vacuum and power needs (cylindric ion trap with low thermal mass GC)

Very low maintainance costs.

Fast GC column heating & heating up to 220°C/min

Intuitive, multi-level (expert - developer - end-user) user-friendly GC/MS/MS software monitoring analysis & Griffin 450 hardware parameters

Import-Export of AMDIS files - NIST library software integration

'Push on the button' method Wizard for non qualified end-users

Remote distance control of software by Crisis Management Board

Identifies, confirms and quantifies  wide range of chemical substances

Identification of unknown chemical substances

Creation and integration of user's sub-libraries of chemical compounds

Multiple sample introduction options for analysis of air, solids and liquids:

Split/Splitless Injector 1. Direct Syringe Injection
2. SPME Fiber  3. Autosampler  4. Headspace Sampler
Universal Sampling Port  5. Direct Air Intake via Universal Sampling Port  6. Remote hot zone deployable air sampling with X-Sorber
7. Direct Air Intake via Transfer Line

X-Sorber is desorbed and reconditioned for further use in Griffin Universal Sample port (8)

•  sensitivity  is compound dependent

for liquid injection: low ppm - high ppb
for gas phase sample: low ppb - high ppt

•Low thermal mass gas chromatography: rapid cooling & heating of GC column (heaters placed directly onto column requiring low power energy)

 • At only 3 (1,36kg), the handheld Griffin X-Sorber provides a convenient and efficient method for acquiring air samples from remote locations, thus eliminating the need to carry heavier instruments into a potential "hot zone" . The X-Sorber is desorbed directly into its docking port on the Griffin 450 air module (8), able to sample continuously or discontinuously , in pararell with identical sampling via two sorbent tubes, or with two different commercially available sorbent tubes. Griffin X-Sorber has also headspace sampling capabilities for sVOCs or VOCs evaporated from liquids and captured by the sorbent media.

mounted on wire rope isolators, providing resistance to shock and vibration, making Griffin 450 operiational in harsh environments as vehicles or mobile analytical labs.

Griffin 450 integrate a unique proprietary mass analyser, a 3D cylindric ion trapp mass analyzer :

Its simplified geometry allows its miniaturization (lower power requirements)
Rugged, modular design (better system performance)
MS/MS capability (selectivity)
Reduced voltage/vacuum requirements (smaller pumps)
